Mid-range UHF RFID read/write device with integrated antenna, Ethernet connectivity and up to two-metre read range
The Sick RFU620-10100 is a mid-range RFID read/write device designed for industrial identification tasks. It operates in the UHF band between 860 MHz and 960 MHz with a carrier frequency of 865.7 MHz to 867.5 MHz. The unit delivers an output power of 0.25 W ERP at 24 dBm and achieves a read range of up to 2 m. An integrated antenna simplifies installation for logistics and manufacturing environments.
The device connects via Ethernet for straightforward network integration into existing automation systems. A built-in heating function ensures reliable operation in low-temperature conditions such as cold storage or outdoor loading bays. Modulation follows the PR-ASK method compliant with the specified standards. No additional antenna hardware or separate reader modules are required for deployment.
This reader conforms to EPCglobal UHF Class 1 Generation 2 and ISO/IEC 18000-6 C standards for tag communication. Buyers whose tags or infrastructure rely on a different air-interface protocol will not be able to use this device. The fixed carrier frequency range also limits use to regions permitting the 865.7 MHz to 867.5 MHz band.

The antenna is built into the RFU620-10100 housing and has no moving parts, so no periodic alignment or antenna replacement is required.
The 0.25 W ERP output power and EPCglobal UHF Class 1 Gen 2 duty-cycle rules cap the maximum transmit time during sustained reading.
The device includes a heating function for cold environments but no active cooling fan, so it operates silently with only modest warmth from the 24 dBm radio.
