Varifocal CCTV lens covering 4-8mm with f1.4 aperture and DC auto-iris for 1/2" or 1/3" sensors
The Computar Ganz HG2Z0414FC-MP is a 4-8mm varifocal C-mount lens with a maximum aperture of f1.4, designed for factory automation and image processing where close-up performance matters. It suits megapixel cameras using 1/2" or 1/3" sensors and a DC auto-iris connector. Buyers needing wider angles or longer reach for general surveillance will find the fixed focal range limiting.
The lens covers 4-8mm focal lengths on 1/2" and 1/3" formats, so the field of view narrows on smaller sensors and cannot exceed the wide end of the zoom range. The DC auto-iris function requires a compatible 4-pin mini connector on the camera; cameras lacking that interface cannot drive the iris automatically. No motorised zoom or remote focus is provided, so adjustments must be made by hand at the lens.
The C-mount thread fits standard industrial cameras, and built-in locking screws secure focus and iris positions once set. Installers must connect the 4-pin DC auto-iris cable correctly; reversed or loose pins will leave the iris stuck open or closed. Because the lens has no focus-motor, precise focus at the desired working distance must be dialled in manually before locking, otherwise the image stays soft.

The lens is continuously adjustable from 4mm to 8mm, so you set the exact focal length your scene needs rather than picking one fixed end.
An f1.4 maximum aperture lets in plenty of light, giving bright images in low-light conditions and a shallow depth of field when opened fully.
The 4-pin mini connector carries the DC auto-iris signal, allowing the camera to control iris opening automatically once the C-mount lens is secured.
