CCTV Varifocal Lens 10-30mm f1.4

This Computar Ganz lens suits installers fitting analog CCTV cameras that need adjustable focal length. The CS mount fits standard camera bodies without adapters. It covers 1/2 inch sensor formats for visible and near-infrared light.

DC Auto Iris Practical Limits

The DC auto iris requires a camera that supplies the matching control voltage; cameras without that output cannot drive the iris. Manual zoom and focus rings must be turned by hand, so remote adjustment is not possible. Focal range stops at 10 and 30 millimetres, fixing the field-of-view boundaries.

1/2 Inch Format Decides Fit

The 1/2 inch image circle is the single specification that determines whether this lens matches your camera sensor. Sensors larger than 1/2 inch will vignette, while smaller sensors waste resolution. Choose this part only when the camera spec sheet lists a 1/2 inch format.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 10 mm or 30 mm end of the varifocal range for a narrow corridor?

Use the 30 mm telephoto end to narrow the field of view and capture detail along a long corridor; turn the dial toward 10 mm only when you need wider coverage.

What does the f1.4 aperture deliver when the lens is mounted on a 1/2" sensor camera?

The f1.4 maximum aperture lets the lens gather plenty of light for low‑light scenes and gives the auto iris a wide range to maintain consistent exposure.

How does the DC auto iris interface limit what the lens can do?

The DC auto iris relies on the camera to drive the iris blades, so exposure control is capped by the camera's own iris circuitry and cannot operate independently.
