Purpose and audience

The Computar Ganz HG3Z4512AFCS-IR is a varifocal CCTV lens built for CS-mount cameras that use 1/2" format sensors. It suits installers who need a single lens to cover multiple viewing angles without swapping hardware.

Build integration

The CS-mount thread and 1/2" image circle define the camera bodies this lens will fit. Manual zoom and focus rings let you set the 4.5-12.5mm focal range on site, while the video auto iris automatically adjusts the aperture from f/1.2 to 360 so the camera maintains exposure as lighting changes. Focus travels from 0.3 m to infinity, freeing the installer from precise pre-measurement of subject distance.

Bundled advantages

All-glass aspherical optics and IR correction keep focus stable when the scene shifts between visible and infrared illumination, eliminating focus shift and infrared bleed. Locking setscrews secure the chosen zoom and focus positions against vibration, and the metal barrel resists wear in fixed installations.

Questions about this item

How close can the lens focus when the camera runs continuously?

The minimum focus distance is 0.3 m, so the lens can capture subjects as close as thirty centimetres during sustained operation.

Does the video auto iris generate noticeable heat or noise during all-day recording?

The iris mechanism is passive and has no motor or fan, so it adds no audible noise or measurable heat to the camera housing.

Which camera mount and sensor size must I already have for this lens to work?

You need a CS-mount camera fitted with a 1/2-inch format sensor for the lens to attach and cover the image circle correctly.
