Computar Ganz 50mm F2.8 C-Mount Lens

This Computar Ganz lens is a 50mm F2.8 C-mount optic built for 2/3-inch sensors and rated at 5 megapixels. It targets machine-vision engineers and factory-automation integrators who need reliable close-up imaging in industrial inspection or measurement systems.

Ultra-Low Distortion Under Continuous Operation

The optical design prioritises ultra-low distortion and a higher relative illumination rate across the frame, so measurement accuracy holds steady during long production runs. A floating mechanism adjusts element spacing as focus shifts, maintaining consistent performance when the camera runs shift after shift without cool-down periods.

Verify Sensor Format and Mount Compatibility

Confirm that your camera uses a C-mount flange and a 2/3-inch sensor before ordering. The 50mm focal length provides a narrow field of view, so ensure the working distance and target size match your application. Buyers needing wider coverage or a different mount standard should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 50mm F2.8 lens generate noticeable heat during continuous factory-automation use?

The lens is a passive optical component with no electronics, so it produces no heat of its own during all-day operation.

Which C-mount camera body is required for the M5028-MPW2 to function?

Any camera with a standard C-mount flange and a 2/3-inch or smaller sensor will accept and cover the 50mm focal length.

Will the 5028 lens vignette on an older 1/2-inch C-mount camera I already own?

The 2/3-inch image circle fully covers a 1/2-inch sensor, so no vignetting occurs when paired with that older hardware.
