Compact Mini-Tower for Micro-ATX Builds

The Cooler Master Elite 342 is a black mini-tower chassis designed for Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards. It suits builders who want a small-footprint case for office or home systems. It is not for users needing full ATX motherboard support or extensive drive bays.

Thermals Noise and Power

The chassis includes a front 120mm fan mount and offers rear mounts for either 80mm or 90mm fans plus a side 90mm option. This flexibility helps maintain airflow in a compact layout. No power supply is included, so thermal performance depends on the chosen 400W unit and fan configuration.

Front Panel Connectivity and Limits

The front panel provides two USB 3.0 ports and two audio jacks for convenient peripheral access. Graphics cards up to 363mm long and CPU coolers up to 153mm tall are supported. The power supply bay accepts units up to 150mm deep, limiting choices to shorter models.

Questions about this item

How do I install the motherboard in the Elite 342 and which standoffs should I use?

Mount Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX boards on the pre-installed standoffs matching your form factor; the common mistake is leaving extra standoffs that short the board.

What maintenance will the Elite 342 need over time?

Clean the front intake and the 120 mm front fan filter regularly; rear 80 mm and 90 mm fans and side 90 mm fan may need replacement if bearings become noisy.

What is the first limit I hit when running a high-load GPU in the Elite 342?

The 363 mm maximum GPU length and 150 mm PSU length restrict card and power-supply choices before thermals become an issue.
