The CoolGear CG-2URS232M lets a single serial device connect to two separate computers via USB 2.0 ports. An FTDI chipset handles the USB-to-serial conversion and supports data rates over 250kbps. A front-panel button selects the active host while an LED shows which system is connected. It targets technicians and integrators managing legacy RS-232 equipment across multiple workstations.

Fits into a Build Without External Power

The switch draws 5 V directly from the USB bus so no separate power adapter is required. It presents a DB9 male connector wired for DTE mode and meets EIA/TIA-232F and CCITT V.28/V.24 specifications.
