External USB 2.0 DVD burner with LightScribe

This Corn Electronics drive connects through USB 2.0 and writes DVD±R, DVD±RW, CD-R and CD-RW media. LightScribe support lets you etch labels directly onto compatible discs. The 2 MB buffer helps prevent buffer underruns during burning sessions.

Suits laptops and desktops needing occasional

Users who want a portable drive for archiving discs or creating LightScribe labels will find it adequate. Not for systems without a USB 2.0 port, for high-volume duplication, or for anyone who needs Blu-ray read or write capability.

USB 2.0 interface decides compatibility

The drive requires an available USB 2.0 connection and draws power from the bus. If your machine only offers USB 3.0 or USB-C ports without backward-compatible controllers, the drive will not function.

DVD+R writes at 4X, DVD-R at 8X, DVD-RW at 4X, CD-R at 24X and CD-RW at 16X.

How does the 2 MB cache affect real-world burning performance?

The 2 MB buffer helps maintain a steady data stream so the drive can sustain its rated write speeds without buffer underruns.
