24X DVD writer for internal SATA builds

This Lite-On ihas324-07 is a 24X DVD writer that installs in a standard 5.25-inch bay using a SATA connection. It reads and writes all common CD and DVD formats including dual-layer discs. The drive includes burning software and a SATA cable in the box.

Suits legacy installs and disc archiving.

This drive suits builders maintaining older Windows 2000, XP or Vista systems or anyone archiving data to DVD media. Buyers who need Blu-ray read or write capability should look elsewhere. Users running Windows 7 or later will find no official driver support listed.

24X maximum DVD write speed

The single specification that decides fit is the 24X maximum write speed for DVD+R and DVD-R media. This rate determines how quickly you can burn a single-layer DVD. Lower speeds apply to rewritable and dual-layer formats.
