Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 8K cable

This 5 cm adapter connects a Mini DisplayPort source to a full-size DisplayPort display or the reverse. It carries 8K resolution at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz using DisplayPort 1.4 signalling. The bi‑directional design works from laptops with Mini DP outputs to large monitors and from desktop GPUs to Mini DP screens. A separate Mini DP cable is required when the display side uses Mini DP.

Who this suits and who it does not

Builders linking a Mini DP laptop or GPU to a standard DisplayPort 8K monitor will find the bandwidth and refresh support they need. Users whose displays only offer HDMI or USB‑C inputs cannot use this adapter. Systems that require longer reach than 5 cm need an active extension instead. Buyers wanting 8K above 60 Hz or 4K above 144 Hz should look at higher‑specification links.

Behaviour under sustained load

The integrated protocol chip maintains the full 32.4 Gbps link during extended sessions. Backward compatibility with DisplayPort 1.4, 1.2 and 1.2.144 Hz ensures stable operation when the source or sink negotiates a lower rate. Audio and video streams continue without drop‑outs during long meetings, playback or gaming periods. The short 5 cm length minimises signal attenuation at the maximum data rate.
