Purpose and audience

The LUOM MM137-1080P adapter connects a Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt source to an HDMI display using a short one-foot cable. It suits owners of compatible MacBook, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro, Microsoft Surface Pro, Lenovo ThinkPad or Dell XPS models who need to add an external monitor, HDTV or projector.

Build integration

The male Mini DisplayPort plug inserts directly into the host port while the female HDMI receptacle accepts a separate HDMI cable that you supply. Double shielding and solid copper conductors preserve signal integrity without drawing external power. The adapter only converts from Mini DisplayPort to HDMI, so it cannot drive a Mini DisplayPort monitor from an HDMI source.

Included extras

Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and maintain consistent conductivity over repeated insertions. No driver disc or configuration utility is bundled; the device relies on the host operating system’s native display stack for audio and video pass-through up to 1920 x 1200 and 1080p with 7.1, 5.1 or 2-channel audio.

Questions about this item

What maximum resolution does the MM137-1080P support for extended or mirrored displays?

The adapter handles video up to 1920 x 1200 and 1080p Full HD, so a second monitor or projector runs at its native resolution without scaling artefacts.

Does the adapter need external power or generate noticeable heat during all-day use?

It draws power from the Mini DisplayPort source and has no active circuitry, so it stays cool and silent even during continuous operation.

Which separate cable must I already own to complete the connection?

A standard HDMI cable is required between the adapter's female port and the display, because the unit only provides the Mini DisplayPort male plug.
