USB-C 3.5 mm audio adapter for digital headsets

The Corn Electronics adapter converts a USB-C port into a 3.5 mm headphone jack using an integrated DAC chip. It targets users whose phones, tablets or laptops lack a native analogue output but who want to keep using wired headphones or headsets. The 135 mm braided cable and 90 degree plug reduce strain on the port during mobile use.

Replaces missing analogue ports on modern devices

This dongle restores wired audio on handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S21 or S20 Ultra, Pixel 4, 3, 2 XL and iPad Pro models that dropped the 3.5 mm socket. The jump is worth it when Bluetooth latency or battery drain is unacceptable and a direct digital connection with 16 bit 48 kHz resolution is preferred. It also enables wired calls on Windows 10 or newer Type-C computers.

Limited to stereo analogue output over USB audio

The built-in 136D DAC supports 16 bit 48 kHz playback and a measured distortion below 0.0004 percent, but it cannot drive multi-channel surround or higher sample rates. The aluminium shell and braided jacket improve durability, yet the fixed 135 mm length restricts placement options. Devices without USB audio class support will not work with this adapter.

Questions about this item

How much clearance does the 90-degree plug need behind my phone?

The right-angle connector adds roughly 135 mm of cable length from the port, so allow at least that much space behind the device for a clean bend.

Does the adapter need drivers or a specific insertion order to work?

It is plug-and-play: insert the USB-C end first, then plug your 3.5 mm headphones into the female jack; no drivers are required on Windows 10 or later, Android, or iPadOS.

What part of the cable is most likely to wear out first?

The braided jacket protects the enamelled copper cores, but the 3.5 mm socket sees the most mechanical stress from repeated headphone insertion and removal.
