Product identity

The COUGAR KBC700-1IS is a wired USB gaming keyboard built around 110 Cherry MX Red mechanical switches. It features an aluminium brushed frame, per-key backlighting with five brightness levels, six programmable G-keys, dedicated macro and profile-switch keys, a detachable palm rest, and USB pass-through with audio jacks. On-board memory stores three configuration profiles independent of the host PC.

Who it suits

The linear Red switches suit players who prefer a light, consistent keystroke without a tactile bump or audible click. Full N-key rollover in USB mode guarantees every simultaneous press registers. Builders who need a quiet office board, wireless freedom, or a compact layout without a number pad should look elsewhere.

Deciding specification

Cherry MX Red switches rated for 50 million keystrokes define the feel and durability of this keyboard. If you want that specific linear action and lifespan, this model matches; if you require a tactile or clicky switch type, it does not.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the Cherry MX Red version or look for another switch type?

This model uses Cherry MX Red switches only; they are linear, light and rated for 50 million keystrokes, so choose it if you prefer a smooth press without a tactile bump.

What does the 50 million keystroke rating actually mean for daily gaming?

It indicates each key can survive roughly 50 million presses before wear becomes likely, which translates to years of heavy use for most players.

The keyboard connects by USB — does that limit how many keys I can press at once?

No, the board supports full N-key rollover over USB, so every key can register simultaneously without ghosting.
