50 long-barrel coloured pencils

The set contains fifty full-length woodcase pencils with 3.3 mm thick cores that resist breaking under pressure. Each pencil is pre-sharpened and made from reforested wood certified AP non-toxic to ASTM D-4236. The smooth, non-scratch laydown supports blending, detailed techniques and everyday classroom projects. The portable box fits easily in a book bag for use at home or school.

Suited for children aged four and up.

Young artists who need a wide colour range in a single, durable box will find the assortment practical. Buyers who want water-soluble leads, professional-grade lightfast ratings or individual colour replacement packs will not find those features here. The thick cores limit the fine detail possible with thinner-point pencils.

3.3 mm core diameter

The thick 1/8-inch cores deliver break-resistant performance and easier resharpening compared to standard coloured pencils. This single dimension determines how long a point lasts and how much pressure the lead tolerates. If your work demands finer lines or a different core formulation, another product will be required.

Questions about this item

How do I get the 684050 pencils ready for a detailed map project, and what step do people skip?

They arrive pre-sharpened, so the common mistake is sharpening them again right away and wasting the thick 3.3 mm cores.

What will I need to replace on the 684050 set after months of classroom use?

The 3.3 mm cores wear down with heavy coloring; you will resharpen them until the pencils become too short to grip comfortably.

What limit appears first when a child uses the 684050 pencils for a long drawing session?

Hand fatigue from the long barrel size shows up before the thick 3.3 mm cores break under pressure.
