Transmits DCI 4K video and audio over DM 8G+ or HDBaseT with HDCP 2.2 and Ethernet
The Crestron DM-TX-4K-202-C is a dual-mode transmitter built for professional AV distribution. It accepts HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort sources at 4096x2160 resolution and extends them over DM 8G+ or HDBaseT links. Integrators use it to route 4K video, audio, Ethernet and control signals across a single cable run.
This unit consolidates HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort inputs into one DM 8G+ or HDBaseT output, removing the need for separate converter boxes. The upgrade is justified when a project demands DCI 4K resolution with HDCP 2.2 compliance and simultaneous Ethernet transport. It is not suited for installations that require fibre transport or resolutions beyond 4096x2160.
The transmitter fits standard Crestron enclosures and draws power via PoDM or PoE, so a local power supply is often unnecessary. Configuration uses auto-discovery over the 10/100 Ethernet port with DHCP addressing. Common issues include EDID mismatches with legacy sources and HDCP 2.2 handshake failures on older displays.

The transmitter is a compact DM 8G+ device designed for surface or rack-mount installation using Crestron mounting brackets; it requires a single rack unit when rack-mounted.
Connect the HDMI or DisplayPort source to the input, then link the DM 8G+ or HDBaseT output to the receiver before powering the unit; this sequence ensures proper EDID and HDCP 2.2 negotiation.
No scheduled maintenance is needed; firmware updates can be applied over the 10/100 Ethernet port if new HDCP 2.2 keys or CEC features are released.
