20 qt Stock Pot Overview

The Crestware SSPOT20 is a 20 qt stock pot constructed from stainless steel with a 1.5 mm gauge. It features an aluminum bottom and stainless steel handles. A cover is included with the pot. The overall dimensions are 13-1/2 in. in diameter and 10 3/4 in. in height.

Commercial Kitchens Not Dishwasher Users

This stock pot suits commercial kitchens and breakrooms needing a large-capacity vessel for stocks, soups, or boiling. It is not suited for operations requiring dishwasher-safe cookware, as the pot is not dishwasher safe. Buyers needing oven-safe cookware should also look elsewhere, as this pot is not rated for oven use.

1.5 mm Gauge Stainless Steel Construction

The 1.5 mm gauge stainless steel body determines the pot's durability and heat distribution characteristics. The aluminum bottom aids in heat conduction across the base. This construction specification is the primary factor in deciding if the pot meets the required strength and performance for high-volume cooking tasks.

Questions about this item

What heat source do I need to use this 20 qt stainless steel stock pot?

The pot has an aluminum bottom and stainless steel body, so it works on gas, electric coil or ceramic cooktops; induction requires a magnetic base, which this model does not have.

Will the 12 3/8 in diameter pot fit on my existing 12 in burner?

The overall diameter is 12 3/8 in, so it overhangs a 12 in burner slightly; it will heat, but the outer edge may warm more slowly.

How can I confirm the 1.5 mm gauge pot is heating evenly after setup?

Do a water test — bring a few litres to a simmer and watch for a uniform ring of bubbles across the entire aluminum bottom; hot spots show as isolated rapid boiling.
