Backward compatibility with Gen3 systems
The PCIe 4.0 interface operates at full speed on supporting platforms and falls back to Gen3 on older motherboards. This allows the same drive to serve new builds and upgrade older machines without a separate purchase. No bundled software or accessories are included with the bare drive.
