USB-A to TOSLINK adapter for computers

The Cubilux Z10-15BK converts a USB Type-A port into an S/PDIF optical output for laptops, desktops, PS5 and PS4. It transmits digital audio to soundbars, external DACs, amplifiers or speakers without driver installation or external power. The aluminium-alloy case and braided cable shield the signal from electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference.

Sample-rate headroom and surround limits

The adapter handles 48 kHz, 96 kHz and 192 kHz streams at 24-bit depth, covering high-resolution stereo and 5.1 surround on Windows and Mac. On PlayStation consoles output is restricted to stereo only, and 7.1 surround sound is not supported at all. The device cannot upscale lower-resolution sources or create 5.1 from a stereo signal.

macOS volume behaviour and device exclusions

On macOS the host volume control has no effect; levels must be adjusted on the receiving amplifier or soundbar. The adapter draws 5.2 V from the USB port and operates up to 104 °F. It is explicitly incompatible with TVs, car USB ports, Xbox consoles and Nintendo Switch, so buyers needing those connections must choose a different solution.
