Curtis PRCD261-WHITE Boombox

The Curtis PRCD261-WHITE is a white portable boombox with a top-loading CD player and built-in AM/FM radio. It runs on AC power using the included adapter or on batteries for full portability. An auxiliary input allows connection of external audio devices.

Home listeners and portable users

This unit suits anyone who wants a compact all-in-one system for CDs and radio at home, in the office or outdoors. It is not for buyers who need Bluetooth streaming, USB playback or cassette recording. It also lacks a headphone jack for private listening.

Top-loading CD mechanism

The single specification that defines this model is the top-loading CD player, which accepts standard audio CDs. If your media is on a phone, USB stick or streaming service you will need a different device with the appropriate inputs.

Questions about this item

Does the PRCD261-WHITE run hot or make fan noise when I leave it playing all day?

The unit has no fan and uses only 1 lb of lightweight components, so it stays cool and silent during extended AC or battery operation.

What power source do I need to have on hand before the PRCD261-WHITE will turn on?

It ships with an AC adapter for mains power and also accepts D-cell batteries for portable DC operation.

Will my older CDs and cassette tapes play on the PRCD261-WHITE without extra equipment?

The top-loading mechanism reads standard audio CDs, and the built-in AM/FM tuner receives analogue broadcasts; there is no cassette deck.
