Brown Wood Frame for 11x14 Diplomas

This brown wood frame displays diplomas, degrees and certificates measuring 11 by 14 inches behind black on gold acid-free matting. The mat opening measures 10.5 by 13.5 inches and the moulding is .75 inches wide. A UV resistant acrylic front and foam board backing protect the document. Hanging hardware and an easel stand are included for wall or tabletop display.

Upgrade from Basic Certificate Holders

This frame replaces simple plastic sleeves or un-matted borders that leave documents exposed to light and handling. The jump is worth it when you want archival-grade acid-free mats and UV resistant acrylic to prevent fading and yellowing over time. Solid wood construction adds weight and rigidity that thin composite frames lack.

Limits of the Included Acrylic and Mat Sizing

The acrylic front shields against UV light but is not glass, so it can scratch more easily during cleaning. The fixed mat opening of 10.5 by 13.5 inches suits standard 11 by 14 documents but cannot be adjusted for custom sizes. Without the mat the frame accepts 15 by 18 inch items, yet the overall outer dimensions of 16.5 by 19.5 inches require that wall space.

Questions about this item

How wide is the moulding on this brown wood frame, and will it cover the edges of an 11x14 diploma?

The moulding is .75 inches wide, so it adds a slim border around the 16.5 x 19.5 inch overall frame size while the mat opening of 10.5 x 13.5 inches displays most of an 11x14 document.

Does the frame include everything needed to hang it on a wall, or must I buy separate hardware?

Wall hanging hardware is included in the box along with an easel stand, UV resistant acrylic front, and foam board backing, so no extra parts are required for either wall or tabletop display.

Will the black on gold mats yellow or damage the diploma over time?

The mats are acid-free, which prevents yellowing and protects the document from deterioration, while the UV resistant acrylic front shields it from light exposure.
