The CyberPower BP144VL2U01 is a rack/tower convertible Extended Battery Module designed to increase runtime for compatible CyberPower UPS systems. It connects to the OL5KRTHD and OL6KRTHD models to provide additional backup power during extended outages. This unit delivers a 144 V DC output using sealed lead-acid batteries rated at 12 V and 9 Ah each. It is built for environments where continuous uptime is a priority.

Passive thermal design with battery equalization

The module operates without active cooling fans, relying on passive airflow within the rack or tower chassis to manage heat during normal float charging and discharge cycles. Battery equalization technology balances cell voltage across the internal string, reducing stress and extending overall service life. Because there are no moving parts, acoustic output is negligible in typical office or server room settings. Power draw is limited to the charging current required to maintain the 144 V DC bus.

Two U rackmount or tower orientation with toolless

The unit occupies 2U of rack space and includes hardware for both rackmount and tower configurations, matching the form factor of the supported UPS systems. A toolless front panel allows quick access to the battery trays for replacement without removing the module from the rack. At 96.80 lb, the unit requires two-person handling or a mechanical lift for installation. Connectors are proprietary to the CyberPower EBM interface, ensuring correct polarity and secure locking with the host UPS.
