When a line-interactive unit makes sense

This model replaces a basic surge strip or an offline UPS that cannot correct brownouts without draining the battery. The built-in automatic voltage regulation keeps output at 120 Vac ±5 % during sags and swells, preserving runtime for the sealed lead-acid batteries. The step up is worthwhile when equipment must stay running through frequent minor voltage fluctuations rather than only during total blackouts.

At half load the batteries last 11 minutes; at full load they last 3 minutes, so the unit is sized for short bridging or orderly shutdown rather than extended operation.
