Power distribution for racks

The CyberPower PDU15B8R is a basic rackmount power distribution unit built for datacentres and other electrically demanding environments. It supplies 120V 15A power to eight NEMA 5-15R outlets from a single NEMA 5-15P plug with unfiltered electrical pass-through. The rugged metal housing supports horizontal or vertical mounting and includes a cord retention tray.

Input voltage and current rating

This unit accepts 100-125V input and delivers a 15A maximum load across all eight receptacles. Exceeding that rating will trip the upstream breaker, so the PDU suits equipment that stays within a 15A total draw at 120V.

Simple mounting with a long cord

A 15-foot AC cord reaches distant power sources and the included retention tray keeps the plug secure. The 1U metal chassis fits standard racks in either orientation, but the fixed outlet spacing may not suit bulky transformer blocks that cover adjacent sockets.

Questions about this item

What does the 15A rating mean for equipment plugged into the eight outlets?

The 15A rating is the total current available across all eight NEMA 5-15R receptacles; the combined draw of connected devices must not exceed 15 amps at 120V.

What does the NEMA 5-15P input and NEMA 5-15R output combination limit in practice?

The NEMA 5-15P plug connects to a standard 120V 15A branch circuit, and the eight NEMA 5-15R outlets pass that same 15A capacity through without filtering or conversion.

How is the unit mounted in a rack and what hardware is included?

The 1U metal housing can be mounted horizontally or vertically using the integrated mounting flanges, and a cord retention tray is included to secure the 15-foot power cord.
