Universal LCD Charger Kit

The Vanson Super Universal LCD Charger ships with four D-size AccuPower AccuLoop NiMH batteries rated at 10000 mAh each. It accepts AAA, AA, C, D and 9 V cells in any mix of one to four pieces for the larger sizes and one to two 9 V blocks. The unit runs from 110 V to 240 V AC or 12 V DC, making it suitable for home, workshop or vehicle use.

Four Independent Charging Channels

Each AA, AAA, C and D slot has its own microprocessor-controlled channel that selects the correct current automatically: 1300 mAh for AA, C and D cells and 500 mAh for AAA cells. Two separate channels handle 9 V batteries at 30 mAh. Negative Delta V termination stops the charge when a cell is full, while short-circuit and overcharge protection guard against faults.

USB Output and LCD Status

A built-in USB port delivers 5 V at 500 mAh for topping up phones, MP3 players or similar small devices. The blue electric LCD screen with backlight shows charge, full or bad status for every occupied slot. Discharge current is fixed at 400 mAh for AA through D sizes, enabling a refresh cycle before recharging.

Questions about this item

What does the 10000 mAh rating on the included D cells mean for actual runtime?

Each D cell stores 10000 mAh; the charger replenishes them at 1300 mA, so a full charge takes roughly 1.5 to 8.5 hours depending on how depleted they are.

How does the charger's 12 V DC 1 A input limit what power sources I can use?

The unit accepts 110 V to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz or a 12 V DC supply; the 1 A DC input caps the maximum draw from a vehicle socket or external adapter.

Will the charger's 175 mm by 135 mm footprint fit on my crowded bench?

The charger measures 175 mm long, 135 mm wide and 69 mm high, weighing 394 g, so it needs a flat area about 6.9 by 5.3 inches.
