Built for field use

The Damascus Depot folding knife measures 8.3 inches overall with a 4 inch blade and 3.5 inch cutting edge. It weighs 1 lb and uses a liner lock with thumb knob for one hand operation. A cow leather sheath with belt loop is included for carry.

Blade steel decides suitability

The blade is hand forged from 1095 and 15N20 high and low carbon steel in a twist pattern. Heat treatment brings hardness to 56 to 58 HRC. This carbon steel will rust if not cleaned and oiled after each use.

Not for low maintenance carry

Buyers who want a knife that can stay in a leather sheath long term without care should look elsewhere. The high carbon Damascus steel demands drying and oiling before storage to prevent corrosion.

Questions about this item

How does the 3.5-inch cutting edge perform once the knife is opened in hand?

The 3.5-inch cutting edge provides a practical slicing length for camp chores, food prep and light bushcraft while keeping the folded profile compact at 4.5 inches.

What does the liner lock interface do for blade security during use?

The brass liner lock engages the blade tang when fully opened, preventing accidental closure under normal cutting pressure.

What physical dimensions determine whether this knife fits a standard belt sheath loop?

The 8.3-inch overall length and included thick cowhide sheath with a belt-insert stripe are sized for typical 1.5 to 2-inch belt widths.
