3-Pin Fan Extension Cable

This 70 cm sleeved cable extends a standard three-pin fan header by 27 inches. It connects a male plug to a female socket so the fan can reach headers routed behind a motherboard tray. The jet-black sleeve keeps the wiring tidy in windowed builds.

Three-Pin Connector Limits

A three-pin header supplies power and a tachometer signal but cannot vary voltage the way a four-pin PWM header does. Fan speed therefore depends on the motherboard’s voltage-control implementation rather than a direct duty-cycle signal. Builds that require precise low-RPM control may not achieve it with this interface.

70 cm Reach and Headroom

The 70 cm length comfortably spans full-tower chassis from a bottom-mounted header to a top-exhaust fan. It runs out when the routing path exceeds that distance or when multiple extensions are daisy-chained and voltage drop becomes noticeable.
