Exact replacement for Epson H551A projectors

This DataStor lamp module carries the ELPLP87 part number and fits Epson projectors that specify the H551A code. It arrives as a complete bulb-and-housing assembly, so no separate parts handling is required. The unit is supplied new and built to ISO9001 quality checks for beam performance, ignition, voltage and run-time.

Pre-assembled housing cuts installation time

The bulb is already seated in its cage, removing the need to align a bare lamp or reuse an old housing. A 215 W UHE bulb delivers the specified 5000-hour rated life under normal operating conditions. Each version offered — OEM direct, OEM branded or compatible — undergoes the same ignition and connection tests before shipping.

Confirm the projector model uses H551A or ELPLP87

Check the projector’s service label or manual for the exact lamp code before ordering. Verify that the existing housing matches the supplied assembly dimensions, as some revisions differ. Ensure the projector’s lamp timer can be reset after installation to track the new 5000-hour interval.

Questions about this item

How often will the UHE 215W bulb need replacing?

The lamp is rated for 5000 hours of typical use before brightness drops to half, so plan a replacement around that interval.

What component limits continuous operation the most?

The 215 watt UHE bulb generates the heat that drives fan speed and thermal shutdown, making it the first limit during long sessions.

How loud and hot does the module get during all-day projection?

Expect the projector’s cooling fans to run at higher speeds to dissipate the 215 watt load, increasing both noise and exhaust temperature.
