27RU mobile video switcher rack

The Datavideo OBV-RACK is a 27RU mobile rack built on a 19-inch metal frame for broadcast and live-production teams who move switchers and gear between vehicle and studio. Its bolt-on baseplate secures the unit to a van floor, while removable handles let crews lift the rack onto a dolly for location work. The open-frame construction keeps weight down and access high for fast wiring changes in the field.

11RU above and 16RU below controller tray

The rack divides its 27 rack units into 11RU above a folding controller tray and 16RU below, giving a clear split for switcher surface and core processing gear. Integrated cable management routes loom neatly through the frame, preserving airflow through the open sides so equipment stays cool during long recording sessions. Narrow side walls allow three racks to sit side by side across a 2500-series Sprinter floor plan.

Folding tray and bolt-on baseplate for transport

A fold-up controller tray reduces the rack profile when the unit is strapped to a dolly or stacked in transit, freeing aisle space in tight vehicle bays. The bolt-on baseplate stays mounted to the vehicle floor, so the rack detaches in seconds without tools for rapid studio deployment. Open-frame sides leave all front and rear panels reachable for patching, monitoring and hot-swap maintenance without removing doors or panels.

Questions about this item

Will my existing 19-inch rackmount gear fit in the 27RU OBV-RACK?

Yes, the OBV-RACK uses a standard 19-inch metal frame with 27 total rack units, so any 19-inch compliant equipment will mount directly.

How can I confirm the rack is correctly secured in my vehicle after installation?

Bolt the supplied baseplate to the van floor, lock the rack onto the plate, and verify the unit does not shift when the vehicle moves.

Does the package include the floor baseplate and mounting bolts, or must I source them separately?

The rack ships with a bolt-on baseplate for vehicle mounting; mounting bolts for the van floor are not included and must be purchased to suit your floor type.
