10 ft Wire Rope Sling

The Dayton 1DNE6 is a steel wire rope sling designed for lifting and rigging tasks. It features an eye-and-eye configuration with a 10 ft length and a 1/2 in rope diameter. The sling includes a capacity tag for on-site reference. It suits professionals who need a durable, general-purpose lifting sling.

Temperature Range and Capacity Ratings

The sling operates across a temperature range from -60 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Vertical hitch capacity is rated at 5,000 lb, choker hitch at 3,800 lb, and basket hitch at 10,200 lb. Steel construction handles heavy loads without deformation. These ratings cover normal industrial and outdoor use.

Steel Build and Eye-and-Eye Design

The all-steel body resists abrasion and cuts during daily rigging work. Eye-and-eye loops allow quick attachment to hooks, shackles or master links. The fixed 10 ft length suits standard lifts but limits reach for longer spans. Users needing adjustable length or synthetic material should consider other sling types.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the eye-and-eye sling to a hook, and what step is most often missed?

Pass each eye through the hook and seat the rope fully in the saddle so the load bears on the bowl, not the latch.

What wear signs mean this wire rope sling must be replaced?

Replace it if you see broken wires, kinks, crushing, corrosion, heat damage above 400 degrees F, or a missing capacity tag.

Which hitch rating limits the load first when the sling is used continuously in a vertical lift?

The vertical hitch capacity of 5,000 lb is the first limit reached under sustained vertical lifting.
