Dayton 10 in 25-ply Spiral Sewn Buffing Wheel
This Dayton 6A827 buffing wheel is a 10 inch diameter spiral sewn disc with 25 plies of cotton. It mounts on a 1 inch arbor and presents a 1/4 inch thick face to the workpiece. The wheel is built for use on a buffing machine.
Suited for polishing aluminum brass bronze
The cotton construction and spiral sewing suit operators who need a firm yet flexible wheel for colour buffing and final finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Shops that require an aggressive cutting action for heavy stock removal should look at a sisal or treated wheel instead.
25 plies of cotton set the cutting
The ply count determines how stiff the wheel feels and how long it holds its shape under load. Twenty-five plies give a medium-hard density that bridges cutting and colouring steps on the materials listed.

Questions about this item
Should I choose the 10-inch wheel with 25 plies or a thinner version?
The 10-inch diameter with 25 plies provides a thicker cotton face for longer wear on aluminum, brass, and steel; select a thinner wheel only if your machine clearance requires it.
What does the 10-inch diameter mean when mounted on my buffing machine?
A 10-inch wheel gives a larger surface speed at standard motor RPM, covering more workpiece area per pass while fitting a 1-inch arbor hole.
How does the 1-inch arbor hole limit which machines I can use?
The 1-inch centre hole fits directly on shafts of that size; if your spindle differs, you will need a separate reducer bushing, which is not included.
