Dayton C1209 Swivel Caster

This Dayton C1209 swivel caster is built for steel-deck platform trucks that need reliable mobility in workshops or warehouses. Its steel construction and zinc finish provide the strength required for heavy-duty material handling tasks. The gray finish suits industrial environments where durability matters more than appearance.

Sustained load behaviour

With a rated load capacity of 1000 lb the caster is designed to support fully loaded platform trucks continuously across concrete floors. The swivel action maintains manoeuvrability even when the truck carries maximum weight over long distances. Steel components resist deformation under constant pressure better than lighter alternatives.

Thermals noise and power

As a passive mechanical component the caster generates no heat and draws no power during operation. Rolling noise stays low on smooth surfaces thanks to the precision swivel bearing and steel wheel construction. The zinc coating protects against corrosion without adding friction or requiring lubrication intervals.

Questions about this item

How much force does the Dayton C1209 swivel caster transmit to the floor when a loaded platform truck sits on it all day?

The caster is rated for a 1,000 lb load capacity, so the floor must support that weight continuously through each wheel.

What mounting pattern does the Dayton C1209 caster require on the steel-deck platform truck I already own?

It is designed for use with a steel-deck platform truck; the truck must provide a compatible mounting plate or bolt holes for installation.

Will the 9 1/2 in overall height of this Dayton caster change the deck height of my existing platform truck?

Yes, the caster adds 9 1/2 in of overall height, which will raise the truck deck by that amount compared with the previous wheels.
