General Purpose Floor Lock

This floor lock secures mobile equipment by pressing a friction pad against the floor when engaged. It suits warehouses, workshops and loading docks where carts or workstations must stay stationary during use. The steel construction resists daily wear in industrial environments. Operators activate it with a foot pedal for hands-free locking.

Check mounting pattern and caster height

Verify that the equipment uses a B bolt-hole pattern with 2-9/16 in by 3-1/4 in inside spacing and 3 in by 3-5/8 in outside spacing. The mounting plate measures 3-15/16 in by 4-9/16 in. Confirm the installed casters have a 6 in wheel diameter and a 7 1/2 in mounting height so the lock engages at the correct floor level.

Integrates with existing casters

The unit mounts directly to the equipment frame using the top plate, requiring no modification to the casters themselves. When retracted at 6 7/8 in it clears the floor for free movement. When extended to 7 7/8 in it locks the equipment in place, freeing operators from chocks or brakes. Steel construction handles repeated cycles without deformation.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and what must I buy separately to mount the FL-LK-6EM floor lock?

The floor lock itself is supplied; mounting bolts for the B-pattern plate are not included and must be purchased to match your cart or equipment frame.

Which version of the Vestil floor lock should I choose for a 6-inch caster with a 7 1/2-inch mounting height?

The FL-LK-6EM is the single model built for that exact caster diameter and mounting height, so no alternative version is required.

How do the 6 7/8-inch retracted and 7 7/8-inch extended heights affect stability when the lock is engaged on my cart?

When engaged the lock drops 1 inch below the retracted position, lifting the caster slightly to prevent rolling while keeping the cart level.
