Black crepe masking tape for identification

This black crepe masking tape is designed for colour coding, inventory control identification, bundling and splicing tasks. Each roll measures 1/2" wide by 60 yards long and the case contains 72 rolls. The rubber adhesive provides a secure bond on a variety of surfaces.

5.2 mil thickness with rubber adhesive for daily

At 5.2 mil thick, the tape offers a tensile strength of 23 lbs/in and an adhesion level of 46 oz/in. The rubber adhesive application ensures reliable sticking during regular handling and processing. An elongation of 7% allows the tape to conform around irregular shapes without tearing easily.

Temperature range of 40° to 180° Fahrenheit

The tape withstands temperatures ranging from 40° to 180° Fahrenheit, making it suitable for standard indoor environments and moderate heat exposure. Performance may degrade outside this window, so it is not intended for extreme cold or high-heat industrial processes. Users should verify that their specific application stays within these stated boundaries.

Questions about this item

How does the rubber adhesive perform at the 40° - 180° Fahrenheit temperature range?

The rubber adhesive maintains 46 oz/in adhesion across the full 40° - 180° Fahrenheit range, keeping bundles secure in cold storage or near heat sources.

Will a standard 3-inch core dispenser accommodate the 1/2" width rolls from the 72-roll case?

Yes, each 1/2" wide roll fits a standard 3-inch core dispenser, so the case of 72 rolls works with existing handheld or bench-top units.

What surface preparation prevents the 5.2 mil crepe backing from lifting after application?

Clean the surface to remove dust and oils, then press firmly along the full length; the 7% elongation lets the tape conform before the rubber adhesive sets.
