Industrial Splicing Tape

This double-coated repulpable tissue tape is built for paper mills, print plants, bag manufacturers and newspaper operations. It uses an acrylic adhesive on a 4.3 mil thick tissue carrier. Each roll measures 1/2 inch wide by 36 yards long and a case contains 72 rolls.

Sustained Adhesion Performance

The tape delivers 30 oz/in adhesion and 6 lbs/in tensile strength across a continuous temperature range of -10° to 300° Fahrenheit. Its water-soluble acrylic adhesive maintains bond integrity during extended runs without leaving residue that interferes with repulping processes.

Installation and Common Issues

Apply the tape directly to clean, dry surfaces at the splice point; the high-tack adhesive grabs immediately without activator. The main failure mode occurs when dust or moisture contaminates the bond line, reducing the effective adhesion below the rated 30 oz/in.

Questions about this item

Does the 4.3 mil acrylic adhesive stay stable when the tape runs continuously at 300°F?

The acrylic adhesive is rated for a continuous range of -10° to 300°F, so it maintains bond strength through extended high-temperature runs.

What equipment is required to apply this 1/2" wide, 36-yard roll in a splicing operation?

A standard hand dispenser or automatic splicer that accepts 1/2" cores will apply the tape; no special tools are needed beyond the applicator.

Can the repulpable tissue carrier be recycled alongside older coated papers in a mill pulper?

Yes, the water-soluble adhesive and tissue carrier are designed to break down completely in standard repulping systems with coated paper grades.
