Clear Acrylic Foam Tape Specifications

This clear double-sided acrylic foam tape measures 1 inch wide by 36 yards long with a 20 mil thickness. It uses the same pressure-sensitive adhesive on both sides for immediate handling strength and very high final tack. The virtually invisible fastening keeps surfaces smooth and is comparable to 3M 4905 and Hi-Bond 4050C.

Suitable Applications and Limitations

This tape suits manufacturers and converters needing robust bonding for glass, metal, or plastic without mechanical fasteners. It eliminates drilling, welding, and associated cleanup while providing a transparent bond line. Buyers requiring a different width, length, or adhesive formulation should look at alternative products.

Key Decision Specification

Questions about this item

What surface preparation is needed for the 20 mil acrylic foam tape to bond properly?

Clean both surfaces thoroughly to remove dust, oil, or residue before applying the pressure-sensitive adhesive for immediate handling strength.

How does the 1 inch wide tape perform when joining materials with different thermal expansion rates?

The acrylic foam core absorbs differential movement between dissimilar substrates while maintaining the high final tack of the 20 mil adhesive layer.

How can I verify the clear tape is achieving full bond strength after installation?

The virtually invisible fastening should show no visible gaps or edge lifting, and the joint will resist shear forces once the adhesive reaches full cure.
