Gold Metalized Mylar Tape

This gold metalized Mylar tape uses an acrylic adhesive and comes in a case of 96 rolls. Each roll measures 3/8 inch wide by 72 yards long. It suits electronic detection of roll splices or end-of-roll markers as well as decorative trim for albums, toys, appliances and boats. The film also handles splicing in high-temperature environments including infrared exposure.

Sustained High-Temperature Performance

The tape withstands continuous temperatures from 0 to 300 degrees Fahrenheit without losing integrity. Its 2 mil thickness and 18 lbs/in tensile strength resist mechanical stress during extended use. Acrylic adhesive maintains 30 oz/in adhesion across the full temperature range. Elongation of 60 percent allows the tape to conform to irregular surfaces while under load.

Practical Limits of Metalized Film

The 1 mil metalized layer provides reflectivity for optical sensing but does not conduct electricity for circuit paths. Adhesion values are measured on standard test panels; low-surface-energy plastics may reduce bond strength. Temperature rating applies to the film and adhesive together; substrate expansion at the upper limit can affect long-term holding power. The tape is not designed for structural load-bearing beyond the stated tensile figure.
