Product and Intended Use

This yellow utility-grade autobody masking tape is designed for car repair and painting applications. The natural rubber adhesive works with both solvent-based and water-based paints. A case contains 36 rolls, each measuring 1 inch by 60 yards. The yellow colour gives clear contrast against vehicle surfaces during preparation.

Capacity and Temperature Performance

Each roll provides 60 yards of 5.7 mil thick tape with a tensile strength of 25 lbs/in and adhesion of 16 oz/in. The tape withstands continuous temperatures from 0 to 248 degrees Fahrenheit. It also tolerates short exposure up to 320 degrees Fahrenheit for less than two minutes during bake cycles. Elongation is rated at 8 percent.

Adhesive Limits and Removal

The natural rubber adhesive is formulated to leave no residue after removal from painted surfaces. Performance is reliable within the stated temperature range and during typical automotive refinishing processes. The tape is waterproof, suiting demanding shop environments. It is not intended for applications requiring higher heat resistance or longer dwell times beyond the specified limits.

Questions about this item

Will the 1-inch width match the masking lines I already use on older panels?

Yes — each roll is 1 inch wide and 60 yards long, so it fits the same masking lines you currently run on existing panels.

How can I confirm the 5.7 mil tape is holding during a 320 °F bake cycle?

Press the tape firmly after application; if it stays bonded through the short high-heat cycle and peels cleanly with no residue, the 16 oz/in adhesion and 25 lbs/in tensile strength are performing as specified.

Does the case include 36 individual rolls or a single 36-roll spool, and do I need a separate dispenser?

The case contains 36 separate 1-inch by 60-yard rolls; no dispenser is included, so you will need your own hand-held or bench dispenser.
