8-Channel PoE NVR Kit with 1TB HDD

This Defender Sentinel kit combines an 8-channel network video recorder with eight metal IP cameras and a pre-installed 1TB hard drive. It records up to 8MP resolution at 25FPS using H.265 or H.264 compression. The system is designed for property owners who want a complete wired surveillance package managed through the Defender Empower app only.

IP66 Cameras, PoE Power, DC48V Supply

Eight turret cameras carry an IP66 weather rating and draw power, audio and video through a single Ethernet cable from the recorder's PoE ports. The NVR runs on an external DC48V/2A power supply. Recording modes include continuous, scheduled or motion-triggered capture, and footage can be backed up to a USB device.

ONVIF Integration, VGA and HDMI Output

The recorder offers one VGA and one HDMI port for local monitor connection and supports ONVIF for integration with compatible third-party platforms. Cameras provide 109° wide-angle viewing, colour night vision to 100ft, built-in microphone audio and AI human detection that triggers blue-red flashing lights and an LED spotlight. Buyers needing wireless cameras or a different mobile app cannot use this system.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the eight PoE cameras to the NVR and which step do installers often miss?

Plug each camera into one of the eight RJ-45 PoE ports on the NVR using a single Ethernet cable that carries power, video and audio; the step often missed is downloading the Defender Empower app first because the system works only with that app and not with any other Defender app.

What maintenance will the 1 TB hard drive and the eight IP66 cameras need over time?

The 1 TB HDD will eventually fill and require either scheduled overwrite or a larger drive swap; the IP66 metal turret cameras need occasional lens cleaning and a check that cable glands stay tight to maintain their weather seal.

Which limit appears first during continuous 25 FPS 4K recording on the 1 TB drive?

Storage capacity is the first limit; at 25 FPS with H.265 compression the 1 TB drive holds a finite number of days before the oldest footage is overwritten or the drive must be replaced.
