What this cable does
The Defendwe EIG88 is a 20 cm Micro USB OTG Y-splitter that adds a USB-A female port while keeping the device’s own Micro USB 5-pin socket available for charging. It is intended for phones or tablets that support USB On-The-Go and need to read flash drives, keyboards or mice without losing power input.
Thermals noise and power
The adapter draws whatever current the connected peripheral requires, up to the host device’s OTG current limit, and passes charging current through the female Micro USB port to the device. No active components generate heat, so the cable runs at ambient temperature and produces no audible noise during normal file transfers or peripheral use.
Sustained load behaviour
Under continuous read or write activity the splitter remains passive; voltage drop is limited to the 20 cm copper run and the contact resistance of the connectors. As long as the host’s OTG controller and power source can supply the peripheral’s steady-state current, operation stays stable for extended sessions.

Questions about this item
How do I plug this Y-splitter into my phone and a flash drive at the same time?
Insert the Micro USB male end into the phone, plug the flash drive into the USB A female port, and connect a charger to the Micro USB female port so the host can supply power.
Will the Micro USB female port wear out from repeated charging cycles?
The female port is rated for typical USB insertion cycles; avoid angling the plug to reduce stress on the 5-pin contacts.
What stops me from running a portable hard drive on this 20cm cable?
The cable draws host power only, so a drive needing more current than the phone’s OTG port provides will not spin up.
