Dual-port Gigabit Ethernet PCIe x4 card adds two RJ-45 links with checksum offload and virtualization support
This PCI Express x4 card adds two RJ-45 ports running at 10/100/1000Base-T to a PC or server. It targets administrators who need a second physical network path for redundancy or traffic separation. Driver support spans Windows 32-64 bit, Linux 32-64 bit, VMware, MS-DOS and Oracle Solaris. Wake-on-LAN allows remote power management across the LAN.
The plug-in form factor occupies a single PCI Express x4 slot and presents two twisted-pair connectors on the bracket. Link and Activity LEDs give immediate visual confirmation of each port state. On-chip temperature monitoring and PM Offload reduce host CPU load during sustained transfers. Checksum offload for TCP, IP and UDP further lightens processing overhead.
Upgrading from a single integrated port adds a second independent Gigabit link for iSCSI storage, VM migration or link aggregation. The jump is worth it when a server needs simultaneous storage and client traffic on separate wires. Buyers who need fibre uplinks or 10 Gigabit speeds will require a different adapter class.

The PCI Express x4 host interface provides enough bandwidth for both RJ-45 ports to run at their full 1000 Mbps rate simultaneously without bottleneck.
It needs a standard PCI Express x4 (or larger) slot and fits a low-profile bracket; the card itself is a single-slot plug-in form factor.
Power off the PC, insert the card firmly into the PCI Express slot, secure the bracket screw, then install the correct 32-bit or 64-bit driver for Windows, Linux, VMware, MS-DOS or Oracle Solaris — skipping the OS-specific driver is the common mistake.
