Latitude 7490 14" i5 1.70 GHz 32 GB 1 TB

This refurbished Dell Latitude 7490 laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. It pairs an Intel Core i5 8350U 1.70 GHz processor with 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 1 TB solid-state drive. Integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics drive the 14.0-inch non-touch FHD display. Connectivity includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, three USB ports, a webcam and integrated audio.

Suits office and remote work.

The 1.70 GHz quad-core CPU and 32 GB RAM handle multitasking, web apps and document workloads. Integrated graphics limit 3D rendering, video editing and gaming. Buyers who need discrete GPU performance or a touchscreen should consider other configurations. The 90-day supplier warranty covers functional defects only.

Soldered 32 GB DDR4 maximum memory

The system maxes out at 32 GB and the installed SODIMM modules fill that ceiling. No further RAM upgrades are possible, so memory-intensive virtualisation or large datasets require a different platform. All other specs are fixed at the listed 1 TB storage, 14.0-inch screen and 802.11ac wireless.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 14.0-inch Latitude 7490 with 32GB and 1TB SSD or a smaller capacity?

This configuration is fixed at 32GB memory and a 1TB drive; the 32GB matches the system maximum and the 1TB provides ample space for most workloads.

What does the i5-8350U at 1.70GHz actually deliver in daily use?

The quad-core processor with Intel UHD 620 graphics handles office apps, web browsing and light multitasking smoothly; heavier tasks will take longer.

Which USB standard do the three ports use and what speed does that limit me to?

The three USB ports follow the USB 3 specification, so connected devices are capped at 5 Gbps theoretical bandwidth.
