Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.0-inch notebook powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.6 GHz. It comes with 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed and the 1920 x 1080 non-touch display uses integrated Intel HD Graphics.

Thin chassis with essential ports

The chassis measures 0.67 x 13.03 x 8.7 inches, leaving room in a bag for power and peripherals. Three USB ports and one HDMI output handle external storage and a second screen. Audio ports and a webcam support calls without extra dongles. Memory is fixed at 16 GB so no upgrade slot is needed.

Suited for office work on the move

This unit suits professionals who need a light Windows 10 machine for document editing, email and video conferencing. Buyers who want a dedicated graphics card, a touchscreen, a backlit keyboard or more internal storage should look at other configurations.

Questions about this item

How does the dual-core i7-6600U at 2.6 GHz behave when the laptop is pushed continuously?

The dual-core processor runs at 2.6 GHz with 4 MB L3 cache, so sustained workloads are limited by the two cores and integrated Intel HD Graphics rather than a discrete GPU.

What is the fan and heat profile like during all-day operation?

The 14.0-inch chassis measures 0.67 by 13.03 by 8.7 inches, and with only integrated graphics the thermal load stays modest, though the non-backlit keyboard offers no extra airflow hint.

Which peripherals or cables are required to start using this Latitude 7480?

The unit includes Windows 10 Pro, a 256 GB SSD, 16 GB memory, one HDMI port and three USB ports, so only a power adapter and any external display or USB devices you need are required.
