Compact monochrome laser for small offices

The Dell 1720 is a new monochrome laser printer built for workspaces that need fast, text-focused output without a large footprint. It prints up to 30 pages per minute at 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution, driven by a 366 MHz processor and 16 MB of memory. A monthly duty cycle of 25,000 pages supports regular departmental workloads. The compact design fits on a desk or shared shelf.

USB and parallel connectivity for mixed fleets

A USB port and an IEEE 1284-B parallel port give two wired paths to the host, so the printer can serve modern laptops and legacy desktops without extra adapters. Both interfaces are built into the chassis, keeping cable routing simple. The parallel option is useful in environments that still run older accounting or ERP software on hardware without USB support. No network interface is included.

Integrated toner management simplifies supplies

The bundled Dell Toner Management System tracks consumable levels and streamlines reordering, reducing the chance of unexpected downtime. Driver installation is handled through the standard USB or parallel connection, so no separate software media is required. The package contains the printer and the management utility; no additional cables, trays or maintenance kits are supplied.
