Pro 16 laptop with Core Ultra 5 235U

The Dell Pro 16 2TG61 is a 16.0 inch touchscreen notebook built around the Intel Core Ultra 5 235U processor with 12 cores and 14 threads. It ships with 16 GB of DDR5 memory and a 256 GB M.2 SSD running Windows 11 Pro. The integrated Intel graphics and 12 TOPS NPU suit office productivity and light AI-assisted workflows.

Thermals noise and power draw in normal use

The 16.0 inch IPS panel runs at 60 Hz with 300 nit brightness and 45 percent NTSC colour coverage. ExpressCharge and ExpressCharge Boost manage battery replenishment while the anti-glare coating reduces reflections. The Core Ultra 5 235U reaches a 4.90 GHz turbo frequency within a low-power envelope designed for quiet daily operation.

Build quality and daily connectivity

The Platinum Silver chassis includes a camera privacy shutter, a Copilot key and a smart card reader for secure login. Certified to Energy Star, EPEAT Gold and TCO standards, the laptop supports Wi-Fi 6E for modern wireless networks. The Full HD Plus 1920 x 1200 touchscreen and single SODIMM memory slot define the upgrade path for buyers who need more storage or user-replaceable memory.

Questions about this item

How do I install the single DDR5 SODIMM module and what step do people get wrong?

Insert the module at a 30-degree angle until the gold contacts disappear, then press down until the side clips click; the common mistake is stopping when it feels seated but before the clips engage.

Which component will need replacement first and when?

The standard battery is the only user-replaceable part listed; plan to swap it when runtime drops below your workflow needs, typically after several hundred charge cycles.

What limit appears first during sustained heavy workloads on the Core Ultra 5 235U?

The 12-core, 14-thread processor will hit its thermal ceiling before the 60 Hz panel or shared graphics memory become bottlenecks, causing clock speeds to throttle.
