Business tower for office teams

The Dell OptiPlex 7010 is a new business desktop built around an Intel Core i5-12500 six-core processor that reaches 4.6GHz. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory at 3200MHz and a 2TB NVMe drive for fast boot and file access. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and a DVD±RW drive is included for legacy media.

Step up from smaller drives or older CPUs

The 2TB NVMe SSD replaces configurations that used 512GB or lesser solid-state storage, removing the need for an early capacity upgrade. Moving to a 12th-generation six-core CPU from a four-core or earlier platform is worthwhile when multi-threaded office workloads or virtual machines become daily tasks. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics handles standard business displays without a discrete card.

Steady output within a 180W chassis

The 180-watt power supply defines the thermal envelope for sustained workloads such as long compiles, batch processing or video conferencing. Tool-less chassis access allows memory expansion up to 64GB or additional storage without downtime. Wi-Fi 6 and Gigabit Ethernet maintain reliable network throughput during extended sessions.

Questions about this item

What are the internal drive bays and power supply rating for adding storage to the 7010 tower?

The tower chassis includes tool-less access for drive installation and a 180W power supply; verify bay count and cable routing before adding drives.

Does the i5-12500 require a BIOS update before installing Windows 11 Pro on this OptiPlex 7010?

The system ships with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and validated on the 12th Gen processor, so no separate BIOS step is needed for the OS.

What is the maximum DDR4 memory capacity and speed supported by the 7010 motherboard?

The board supports up to 64GB of DDR4 at 3200MHz; the current 16GB configuration leaves two slots free for expansion.
