Alienware m15 R4 Gaming Laptop

The Alienware m15 R4 is a 15.6 inch gaming laptop built around an eight-core Intel Core i7-10870H processor and a dedicated GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. It ships with Windows 11 Pro, 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. The Dark Side of the Moon chassis measures 14.19 inches wide and 10.863 inches deep.

16GB RAM and 1TB SSD Capacity

Sixteen gigabytes of memory handles modern games and multitasking workloads comfortably, while the 1TB solid-state drive provides fast storage for a large library. Memory and storage are not user-expandable beyond the single MicroSD card slot, so buyers who need more capacity should plan accordingly.

Thunderbolt 3 and Amplifier Port

A Thunderbolt 3 port and the proprietary Alienware Graphics Amplifier port enable external GPU enclosures for additional graphics performance. The HDMI 2.1b and Mini DisplayPort 1.4 outputs drive external displays, while two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and a MicroSD reader cover everyday peripherals.

Questions about this item

Will the Thunderbolt 3 port let me keep using my older USB-C dock and monitor?

The Thunderbolt 3 port supports USB-C docks and DisplayPort-alt monitors, so most existing USB-C peripherals will connect and work.

How can I confirm the RTX 3070 is running at full speed after setup?

Open NVIDIA Control Panel, check that the GPU shows 8 GB GDDR6 and that the driver reports the 3070 Laptop GPU under 3D settings.

What cables or adapters come in the box versus what I must buy separately?

The box includes the laptop and its power adapter; video cables for HDMI 2.1b or Mini DisplayPort 1.4, a MicroSD card, and a lock cable are not included.
