SAS backplane board for PowerEdge R610 servers, Dell part D109N
This Dell D109N SAS backplane board is a direct replacement part for the PowerEdge R610 server. It provides the internal SAS drive connectors and signal routing required for the chassis drive bays. System administrators maintaining a PowerEdge R610 use this board to restore storage connectivity after a backplane failure.
The board fits only the PowerEdge R610; it will not install in other Dell servers or in non-Dell chassis. Buyers who need a backplane for a different PowerEdge model or a generic SAS enclosure must source the correct part number for that platform.

The D109N backplane board provides the physical SAS connections for the server's drive bays, linking them to the RAID controller or HBA inside the R610 chassis.
The backplane uses the SAS interface to connect the drive bays to the server's storage controller.
