Dell GH70N optical drive
The Dell GH70N is a 5.25-inch internal DVD-RW burner designed for desktop PCs that still require optical media support. It writes CDs at 48x and DVDs at 16x, handling standard data discs, audio CDs and video DVDs.
Capacity and headroom
The drive writes single-layer DVDs at 16x and CDs at 48x, providing enough throughput for typical backup and authoring tasks. It does not support Blu-ray media or dual-layer DVD writing, so users needing higher capacity discs or faster DVD speeds will need a different solution.

Questions about this item
Will the 5.25-inch GH70N fit in the same bay as my current 5.25-inch optical drive?
Yes, the drive uses the standard 5.25-inch form factor so it mounts in any existing 5.25-inch bay using the same screws and rails.
How can I verify the GH70N is writing at its rated 16x DVD and 48x CD speeds after installation?
Burn a disc and check the write-speed log in your burning software; it should report up to 16x for DVD media and 48x for CD media.
