A tower desktop running Windows 10 Pro with a 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5 7th Gen processor, 8 GB DDR4 memory, 500 GB hard drive and integrated Intel HD Graphics 630
The Dell OptiPlex 3050 MT is a new desktop computer built around an Intel Core i5 7th Gen 3.40GHz processor with 8 GB of DDR4 SDRAM and a 500 GB hard drive. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 with shared graphics memory. A DVD-Writer and ten USB ports (six USB 2.0, four USB 3.0) handle legacy media and peripherals.
This tower suits workers who rely on HDMI and DisplayPort for dual monitors, multiple USB devices and wired networking in a managed environment. Buyers who need wireless LAN, a dedicated graphics card or a solid-state drive should look elsewhere. The compact 13.8" x 6.1" x 10.8" chassis limits internal expansion compared with larger form factors.
The single 500 GB HDD determines storage capacity and responsiveness for the operating system and applications. No additional drive bays or M.2 slots are described in the specifications. If your workflow requires faster boot times or larger local datasets, this drive configuration will not meet that need.

Open the side panel, press the retention clips on the two DDR4 slots, insert the module until it clicks, then replace the cover; the step most people miss is pressing both clips back fully so the stick locks in place.
The 500 GB mechanical hard drive is the component most likely to wear out; swapping it for a solid-state drive later will also make the system noticeably faster.
The shared Intel HD Graphics 630 uses system memory, so sustained heavy graphics work will hit the 8 GB DDR4 ceiling before the processor thermal throttle engages.
