Compact Business Desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s is a slim-form-factor desktop built for office environments. It runs on a 64-bit six-core Intel i5-8500 processor clocked at 3.0 GHz with 9 MB of L3 cache. The system includes 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB NVMe PCIe SSD for fast boot and application loading. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Thermals and Power

The processor carries a 65 W thermal design power, which the small chassis manages with standard business-class cooling. Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles display output without a discrete card, keeping overall system power draw modest. Gigabit Ethernet provides wired connectivity while the integrated graphics drive up to two displays via dual DisplayPort outputs and a VGA port. No wireless card is fitted.

Included Accessories

Only a power cord is bundled with the desktop; no keyboard, mouse, monitor or speaker set is supplied. A single USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port joins six USB 3.1 Gen 1 and two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports for peripheral expansion. The absence of an optical drive and wireless hardware means buyers needing Wi-Fi or disc media must source those separately.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD and what step is often missed?

The SSD mounts in the M.2 slot on the motherboard; the step often missed is securing it with the tiny retention screw so it stays firmly seated.

What maintenance or replacement will the 8GB DDR4 memory need later?

The two SODIMM slots support up to 64GB total; you can add matching DDR4 modules later without removing the original pair.

What limit appears first under sustained use with the 65W i5 8500?

The 65W thermal design means the cooler hits its limit first, causing the six cores to throttle below 3.0GHz during long heavy loads.
